Membership of the Cambridge University Free Speech Society is free and open to all who share its purpose: the defence of open inquiry and unfettered discussion within the University.

The Society keeps three member rolls — for current students, alumni, and academic and professorial staff — alongside an list for members of the public who wish to hear about our events.

To join, choose the roll that applies to you and confirm your place by email. Students and staff sign up with a Cambridge address; alumni are asked only for their college and year of matriculation. There are no dues. Members receive our termly programme, notice of the Symposium and speaker events, and a standing invitation to take part.

Open to all current Cambridge students. Register with your university email for full access to lectures, events, reading groups, and the life of the Society.

AFFILIATED ALUMNA

Graduates of the University who remain part of the Society's community, retaining a voice in its life and standing invitation to its events.

ACADEMICS & STAFF

Members of the University's academic and professorial body who support the Society's defence of open inquiry and join its rolls as senior members.

Members of the public, beyond the University, who wish to follow the Society's work and receive notice of its open events.
